We’ve got three words for you: BattleForge...Map...Editor. That's right, since our last Community Watch, a new key feature has been added to BattleForge. For those of you unfamiliar with it, the Editor enables anyone and everyone to create their own maps, scenarios and even full campaigns for BattleForge! You are basically only limited by your imagination and creativity; the editor itself knows no bounds!

If you are interested in making maps and learning about the scripting required for more complex maps, we would suggest you check out the various sticky threads in our new Map Editor Forum. You can find compilations of scripts, experiences our community members have had with the Editor so far as well as various already finished maps. Speaking of which, some of our community members went as far to create entirely new game modes! Tower Defense anyone? As we said, you really are only limited by your imagination, so go and get experimenting!

Oh by the way, we are holding a small competition to see what you guys can come up with in terms of interesting and balanced PvP maps. The chosen winners will have their maps featured in the Tournament Final. Speaking of the Tournament, it is coming along quite nicely and we are quickly approaching the finish. You can take part in the banter around the matches, and view the best players in the world’s replays here and take a look at the standings here.

Now, let's move on to other matters. We have created a new YouTube channel onto which we want to upload and advertise your BattleForge related Video's, whether it be machinima style videos, Tutorials or Audio Commentaries, we will take a look at them and upload them to the channel for all BattleForge lovers to see – the one caveat being that it is suitable of course. Those of you who are fans of Mergar and Tigertank’s Audio Commentaries will be happy to note that we already have a few of those uploaded, so you won’t have to worry about patches ruining old commentaries. And those of you that have never heard of Mergar or Tigertank, should really check out the videos, they know an awful lot about the game and really do impart a great deal of information into each video. We would suggest even veteran players take a look as you will quite possibly learn a thing or two with each match!

Since the last Community Watch the Development Team has taken some time out of their busy schedule to answer a few of your questions. In fact, they have been particularly obliging in that they have done it twice for us! You can read the first set of new questions here, and the second set here.

We have had quite a few patches, hot fixes and updates on the site over the past 3 weeks too; these have addressed a variety of issues, whether it is bug fixes on the recently released Empire map or balancing changes made to the likes of Nomad among others. Server stability has also been improved immensely, so hopefully those of you that were experiencing crashes should be experiencing far fewer than before. The full details are outlined in the Blue Post section below.
